Bareboat Charter – Onboard Reference Guide

This guide is provided to help the charterer operate the vessel safely and confidently. The charterer is fully responsible for the vessel during the charter period.

Engine & Mechanical Basics

  • Engine Start Procedure: Press and hold warm for 5 seconds, then START button

  • Cooling Water Check Location: Port stern

  • Normal Operating RPM: 2400

  • Engine Off Procedure: From idle neutral, press STOP button

  • Engine Alarms & What to Do: Shutoff engine immediately and call for assistence

Electrical Systems

  • Battery Selector Location / Use: Stay on BOTH always

  • Shore Power Connection & Breakers: None

Anchoring

  • Anchor Type & Location: Rocna 33lbs on bow roller

  • Windlass Operation: Up / down buttons located at bow

  • Recommended Scope: 7:1 - chain marked with ties at 25’ intervals

Docking & Handling Notes

  • Prop Walk Direction: None

  • Throttle Response Notes: DO NOT SHIFT UNLESS AT IDLE

  • Lines & Fender Locations: Stern rail with spares in V-berth closet

Navigation & Operating Limits

  • Charts Location: Inside the chart table at the nav station

  • Depth Sounder Notes: Displays depth from the transducer- so 3.5’ is absolute minimum you will see on the display before the boat is aground

  • Known Local Hazards: There is a shoal directly seaward of the Tides Inn marina docks, marked with a white “Hazard” buoy. 

  • Recommended Wind Limits: No gusts above 20 kts

  • Go / No-Go Authority: Charterer

Emergency Procedures

  • Man Overboard Procedure: Alert crew, throw throwable flotation, and assign pointer

  • Grounding Response: Depower the vessel and contact owner 

  • Fire Response: Alert crew, and discharge extinguisher

  • Engine Failure Response: Deploy anchor or sails in order to avoid hazards. Call owner

Towing Protocol

  • Do NOT Accept Tows from Unverified Vessels

Return Expectations

  • Trash Disposal Instructions: Marina trash bins

  • Cleaning Expectations: Be considerate and try to leave it how you found it.  If there was spray coming onto deck, please rinse with fresh water. 

  • Report Any Issues Immediately
